Hedge calculator
A hedge bets on the other side to fix the result in advance. 100 staked at 5.00, hedged at 1.80 with a stake of 277.78, locks in 122.22 whichever side wins.
How it works
- Equal-result hedge stake = original stake × original odds / hedge odds.
- Locked-in result = original return - original stake - hedge stake. If it is negative, the hedge caps a loss instead of locking in a profit.
- A hedge pays the bookmaker's margin a second time: it buys certainty, it does not add value.
