Arbitrage calculator
When the best odds on every outcome, taken from different bookmakers, imply less than 100% in total, stakes can be split for the same return whatever happens. Odds of 2.10 and 2.05 on the two sides lock in 3.73%.
How it works
- Sum = 1 / odds 1 + 1 / odds 2 (+ 1 / odds 3). Below 1, an arbitrage exists and returns 1 / sum - 1 on the total stake.
- Stake on each outcome = total × (1 / its odds) / sum, so every outcome returns the same amount.
- In practice prices move, stakes can be limited and rules differ between bookmakers; a bet that is not accepted at the quoted price breaks the arbitrage.
